| One of the research programs initiated by Optotech focuses on children with learning difficulties and their correlation to eye movement. Results are drawn after studying both children (and adults) with and without learning difficulties. The objective is to compare eye movement and reading patterns in both groups.
The first part of the evaluation requires a comprehensive eye check up (visual acuity and general eye sight functions, contrast sensitivity, visual field, fundus exam). The second part involves checking any functional skills for which vision is a key factor (space perception, orientation, reading speed, text comprehension). In addition to the Optotech and Emmetropia staff (ophthalmologists and optometrist), our research team also includes an occupational therapist, a speech psychologist, mathematicians and engineers.
